As I mentioned in my earlier post about the excellent film Bella.

” Geoff Botkin said that when he was converted in college — after being a committed, activist Marxist — he began to study what methods the Marxists had used to decieve and defile him & the culture. Hollywood films were one of the two chief means (government schools being the other).”

And Geoff began working on overcoming these two anti-christ stringholds through homeschooling ( and having lots of kids) and making films to glorify God. The fruit of that work can be seen in the work that not only Geoff, but his grown childen are now producing. Isaac’s “Outside Hollywood” web site (and book of the same name) is an great starting point for anyone interested in filmaking.

While their the Return of the Daughters video is a great introduction to the idea that my oldest, Emily, wrote about in her essay on why she’s not going to college. More specifically the Return of the Daughters movie

” . . .  will take viewers into the homes of several young women who have dared to defy today’s anti-family culture in pursuit of a biblical approach to daughterhood, using their in-between years to pioneer a new culture of strength and dignity, and to rebuild Western Civilization, starting with the culture of the home.”

And speaking of well-made films that take the scourge of feminism to task, the Gunn Brothers won the San Antonio Independent Film Festival with their Monstrous Regiment of Women movie. The film’s web site says :

Both these movies should be on the shelf of & watched by families who love Christ, and who seek to advance His Kingdom in their hearts, families, and culture.

Finally, no list of world-class, films that you should add to your family’s library ( made by like-minded Christian families instead of those who seek to undermine them) would be complete without mentioning the great folks at Franklin Springs Family Media right up the road in beautiful Middle, Tennessee. Not only is the content of all their films both edifying and challenging, but these films are visually beautiful & technically superior in every way ( buy several of the titles, you won’t be disappointed).
