We all know the arrogance of the average Congressman & the contempt that many in the Beltway have for those drones out here in the hive that poke our heads up and dare to question the way that our overlords act as if our lives, our labours, our children, and everything we have & do are theirs.
However, it is rare that one of them will actually state it blatantly on the public airwaves. I saw this on World Net Daily this morning & thought it worth sharing. Perhaps it is becuase he was beaten in the recent election & so does not care whether the voters see his true colours, but for a Congressman to openly, angrily, defiantly tell a reporter that “It’s not your money ! ” when challenged about a pending corporate giveaway is still rather shocking.
It is especially worth nothing for those who are still buying the Democrats = socialist/ Republicans = pro-free market paradigm that this was a GOP Congressman. It is waaay past time for Christians, conservatives, & lovers of liberty to severe their ties to the Republican Party & the lesser-of-two-evils strategy & place principle over party & righteousness over victory.
Anyway, here’s the exhange from Fox News – posted this morning on World Net Daily :

© 2008 WorldNetDailyA Republican congressman seeking a $25 billion bailout of the troubled U.S. auto industry made a stunning statement about taxpayer funds to benefit Detroit, claiming, “It is not your money.”
Rep. Joe Knollenberg, R-Mich., made the remark during a discussion with Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto yesterday as the pair debated sending billions of federal dollars to prop up the Big Three carmakers.
Cavuto asked Knollenberg: “When the housing industry CEOs come to you and say, ‘You know, [if] we go under and all the ancillary businesses – the dishwasher manufacturers, the washer-and-dryer manufacturers, the Lowe’s and the Home Depots that vastly depend on our being alive and vibrant – if we go under, there’s hell to pay. And then the textile manufacturer comes to you and says, ‘If we go down, there’s hell to pay.’ And on and on and on we go. Where do you draw the line with our money?”
“It is not your money,” said Knollenberg.
Cavuto screamed back, “It is! It is taxpayers money!”
