Farmer’s Widsom On Sabbath Keeping

** This is loosely paraphrased/ based on an anecdote I read in Farm & Ranch Living, but I have heard similar stories/ lines from many folks

This old farmer was telling a story of having to fix a fence on the Lord’s Day. A car had run off the road, taken out several posts & torn a large hole in his fence by a major highway (endangering drivers & cows).

He said that he “tried to do as little work as possible on Sunday, but there are things that come up.”

Then he quipped :
” My Dad always used to say, It’s all right to pull the ox out of the mire on Sunday as long as you didn’t push him in on Saturday night’.”

Words to live by.
